It is important that we know Jesus, and we can learn a lot from Apostle Paul, who said, follow me, as I follow Jesus. And by his life, Paul teaches us an important spiritual principle which is a rule of action, in living our Christian lives.
Some Christians look to Jesus for help in their Christian lives some struggle in their lives, with a weakness towards sin in their Christian lives but never reach the place to have the power to overcome it, even when they seek it with prayer. There always asking Jesus for help in their human weakness and asking others to pray for them for the weakness that they have, I believe that they are sincere and love Jesus.
Now that is ok, if that is where you are in your spiritual growth, that’s fine if you see Jesus only as your helper.
But I believe He wants a closer relationship with you and I. He wants us to know Him. And Paul by his life gives us a spiritual principle, which is a rule of action in knowing Jesus.
Paul said: (—- For I know whom I have believed and persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that day. 2Timothy.1:12. Paul committed his life to Jesus and believed that He would keep it.
Now Paul didn’t ask God for help, for his weakness, when he had to surrender to Jesus, which was a daily practice for him, he was looking unto Jesus as his keeper.
Paul took pleasure in his weakness, he even boasted in his infirmities. 2Corinthians.12:9-10. In knowing Jesus, he knew how to tap into the power source for his new spiritual life; he knew how to draw on the power of Jesus that rested on his life, that power was GRACE for when he was weak, he was also strong. Why? Because he believed Jesus was able to keep him.
When we surrender our lives to Jesus, He owns us, He paid the price for us, we belong to Him, we are not our own anymore. I am His. Therefore He becomes our keeper. The keeper of our new spiritual life.
This new life we have is a life of faith, and Grace flows from faith so we trust that Jesus will keep us, in our many human weaknesses and human failures, this trust we have in Jesus is an act of Faith.
So we can learn from Paul the secret is not to ask the Lord to help us with our weakness, but to commit that weakness we have to Him, and He will keep us.
We don’t try and overcome our weakness, by self effort, we let it go, out of our own hands and into His hands.
When we stop trying and start trusting in Jesus, then grace will flow into our lives, because without Him we can do nothing.
If we really trust Him, with our weakness He is able to keep us.
I believe in Him, who saves those who trust in Him, from those who rise up against them, HE WILL KEEP ME, as the apple of His eye and hide me under the shadow of His wings. Psalm.17:7-8.
Lets manifest Jesus.
